Field Quality Engineer, Japan

The Employee shall act as Field Quality Engineer and not sign contracts with customers nor receive any payments from customers.

General Goals

  • Ensure that the highest level of customer quality support is provided to internal and external customers at all times with a focus on a minimal time and optimum customer satisfaction.

Primary Tasks

  • Organizes the customer quality support for the company according to the statement above:
    • Pre-sales quality assistance
    • Design-In Support with quality assistance
    • After-sales quality support
    • Customer developments (quality)
    • Organize Returned Material and feed back
  • Consult the quality service for customer projects in Support Area.
  • Bench Test and RMA screening for Support Area
  • Organizes and provide quality training of u-blox customers and distributors.
  • Liaise with HQ QA department on local quality issues
  • Fill out quality documents from customers according to instructions of HQ QA department
  • Minimize gaps about quality policy between u-blox and customers

Secondary Tasks

  • Quality Analysis of GPS/Wireless market
  • Provide customer quality support reports.
  • Provide quality market feedback and reports.
  • Perform periodic quality competition analysis.
  • Perform tasks as may be required by Employer from time to time
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in Semiconductor industry or mobile communication industry (Design, Test, Manufacturing)
  • Good Knowledge in Field Quality Aspects
  • Good knowledge in Quality & Reliability Engineering
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Communication skills
  • Work independently, self-motivated, disciplined and proactive
  • Experience in Automotive industry (ISO/TS16949, PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, MSA,etc.)
  • Good command of English
  • Must be able to travel
