As a Senior Application Engineer you will be working in a dynamic and international team within the Automotive Application Engineering Department, providing technical assistance to worldwide customers and coordinating the support activities internally with Product Managers and respective R&D departments. To be successful in this role, you have a good understanding of both software (e.g. reference code, advice on embedded SW as well as u-blox SW support tools and libraries) and HW design (digital, and analog) concepts. You can communicate effectively with all stakeholders and understand the importance of customer support. In this position you have the opportunity to work closely with several departments (product development, product managements, field application engineering and sales team) to help clear roadblocks towards commercializing automotive, consumer and industrial products within u-blox positioning technology as well as provide detailed technical and market feedback. Managing the A/A+ customers’ expectations and provide off/on-shore support for customer projects in GNSS applications Creating technical documentation and presentations for customers Proactively align and collaborate with the Product Management and R&D teams during product definition and development Support the analysis of non-conformities and feed back to Quality and R&D for corrective actions Host technical trainings and workshops for Field Application engineers and customers around the world. Provide both internal and external support during customer design-in phase up to maintenance period
Your Skills and Experience
Master or Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience GNSS data analysis - receiving customer issues, analyzing data, identifying if the data is sufficient and triage the issues and hand-off to other members in u-blox GNSS organization as needed. This can require the use of existing or new tools Ability to reconstruct and execute customer related issues if required using u-blox tools Hands on experience with validation tools, development hardware, and test equipment. Good understanding of GNSS technology, typical solution architectures and expected behavior of components Experience with bug life cycle systems Excellent communication skills Scripting ability (Python, Matlab, Perl) Hands-on knowledge of embedded software and/or hardware design Customer-oriented, able to quickly understand the system architecture of customer's application and advice field application engineers or key customer on possibilities, and consult on a technical level. Excellent communication skills to interface with u-blox subsidiaries and customers around the world Demonstrated work initiative as a self-starter with time management and prioritization skills, with ability to follow up actions to closure Willingness to travel to customer sites and events in domestic and international locations Fluent in English, other European or APAC language is a plus
