Security Lead Positioning

As the Security Lead Positioning, you will be responsible for the product related security features of the u-blox Positioning products. Although you will occupy a staff function, your role will include active involvement in the design and development of the platforms and products (Hardware and Software) and an oversight role in the area of GNSS signal security (mainly jamming and spoofing). Additionally you are interfacing to the involved teams within the Product Center Positioning, as well as to the other Product Centers and the Corporate Security Team.

This position reports to the Head of Positioning Development.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the product security related activities within the product center Positioning
  • Interface to internal teams, as well as to other stakeholders, e.g. other product centers and the Corporate Security team
  • Responsible for the security strategy of the product center Positioning (aligned with the other PCs and corporate)
  • Drive the security related design of our products, including SW and HW architecture and security requirements.
  • Security in the area of chip and module production
  • Semiconductor platform security, e.g. secure boot, secure firmware update (FOTA), secure physical interfaces and APIs, secure transport layer
  • Oversee the activities in the area of GNSS signal security (Robustness, Spoofing/Jamming detection and active countermeasures)
  • Coordinate 3rd party penetration tests & security reviews on Positioning products
  • Drive the security awareness within the Product Center and provide internal trainings
  • Support the Positioning Product Strategy team concerning the Product and Service Security Roadmap (gather general security trends/needs in the POS market) and deployment of the products
  • Contribute to the security processes development and their continuous improvement

  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, robotics, or equivalent education
  • 5 years experience in security related positions
  • Hands-on experience in embedded systems development
  • Sound knowledge of security designs on microprocessor platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
Bonus Points for Experience with
  • Specific security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, ...)
  • Knowledge in key security concepts, including Symmetric/Asymmetric cryptography, Authentication/Authorization mechanisms, common threats to positioning signals (spoofing, jamming, ...)
  • current safety standards in automotive, e.g ISO26262

Includes occasional travels to the other u-blox Positioning sites in Finland, Greece and UK, as well as to selected conferences/customers.
