Senior IC Verification/Validation Engineer To support the growing verification and validation activities of next-generation SoCs in positioning, cellular and short-range applications, u-blox Athens is looking for talented senior engineer with solid expertise and high interest in IC verification, validation and characterization with experience in wireless communication projects. To work in u-blox IC team you need to be committed, curious, creative, innovative, enthusiastic about new technologies, striving for excellence and with a sense of commitment. You will be working in a growing international team in SoC verification and validation. Key responsibilities for the successful candidate will be to contribute in the IP and top-level verification, validation and characterization activities using UVM, Formal methods, and develop embedded SW required for IC verification, validation and production. Responsibilities:
Responsible for the quality of IP and/or SoC firmware driven verification, validation characterization of wireless communication systems. Creation of verification, validation and characterization requirements, development and execution of respective verification/validation and characterizations plans on time. Develop C based FW, UVM tests and testbenches in UVM environments Write System Verilog Assertions Verification of IPs and subsystems by means of Formal Verification techniques (SVAs) and tools. Implement verification coverage to support coverage driven verification targets. Develop and reuse existing FW in pre and post-silicon environments such as FPGA prototypes, ASIC simulators and lab environments. Develop and reuse existing FW for production purposes. Investigate issues, debug designs, FW tests and verification benches (RTL and Gate Level) using simulation tools and board (Silicon and FPGA) Support local junior team members in different verifications activities: formal verification, FW, SVA, UVM, Flow. Documentation own work and creation of specifications to define team member’s tests and benches to be developed. Verification and validation flow implementation and updates targeting EDA tools. Interact with different design and system teams located in different locations in Europe.
PhD/MS or BS in electrical, electronic, or computing engineering. 7+ years’ continuous industrial experience in IC verification, validation and characterization. Firm expertise in embedded SW architecture, development and associated flow for ARM based SoC (subsystems/top-level) verification, validation and characterization for wireless communication systems (Wifi, LTE, GPS/GNSS) Firm expertise with HDL languages for verification (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog) Firm expertise in high-level programming languages (C/C++) for ARM processors Firm experience with low-level FW programming and driver development Experience with IC validation using FPGA prototyping and/or silicon characterization platforms Expert in Verification methodologies (FW driven, UVM, Coverage, Formal, etc) Experience with lab equipment to debug, validate and characterize SoCs is an advantage. Familiar with Unix environment and shell programming/scripting (C-shell, Tcl, Perl, Python) Experience in production environment is highly appreciated.
