As Senior Software Engineer (application integration) you will join a multinational IT team which is responsible for the application landscape supporting the product life-cycle process. You will work for supporting integration, customization, and maintenance of u-blox Requirement Management Toolchain which serves the product development. You will develop and maintain the integration between the different tools in the tool chain, and will contribute to the team with your specific technical expertise to help reaching a fully integrated tools landscape. The position holder will work closely together with the internal users of the applications as well as with the external consultants.

  • Development of the integrations between the different tools in the tool chain (through third-party server hub or customized solutions)
  • Design, implementation, testing and documentation of solutions
  • Maintenance of the integrations administering the solutions configuration and supporting the internal stakeholders in connecting/syncing data, focusing also on resolving conflicts
  • Maintenance of the requirement management tool administering the tool configuration and permissions, and extending it creating customized reports
  • Support of users, writing usage guides and offering trainings to support internal customers
  • Collaboration with external consultants regarding configuration, customization, integration
  • Close collaboration with IT Services and IT Operations to ensure service availability
  • Support gathering the costs, risks, and features provided by possible solutions
  • Responsible for assigned projects: planning for project activities (including effort estimation) and ensuring plans are adhered to

  • B.Sc. in computer science, electronic engineering or equivalent working experience
  • Fundamental and proven experience in software development and in script languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, Bash, etc.)
  • Familiarity and strong understanding of the concepts/methodologies used for application integration (REST API, JSON, XML) and for versioning (SVN/Git/PERFORCE)
  • Hands-on development experience with SQL-based databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server) and reporting (BIRT and Velocity will be an asset)
  • Broad IT knowledge to understand and classify raised issues related to the tool chain integration (e.g. sync conflicts) and the requirement management tool-set
  • Collaborative and motivated team-player with the ability to work independently and a can-do attitude
  • Fluent English communication skills (written, spoken)
  • Holder of a valid work permit for Italy
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of Enterprise application integration
  • Experience in requirement management applications (e.g. Jama, DOORS, Jira) and processes (e.g. IREB or IIBA certification), especially relating to Functional Safety (e.g. ISO 26262 or DO-178C certification).
  • Hands on modeling languages (e.g. SysML, UML) and tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect, IBM Rational Rhapsody)
  • Experience with testing methodologies and testing suites
  • Knowledge of telecommunication/wireless/positioning technology
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban)
  • Good level of ownership to drive projects forward
